POPcon Pro

POPcon downloads email from POP3 servers and forwards it to your exchange server. You can download from single-user POP3 mailboxes as well as multi-drop mailboxes and have the mail distributed according to the recipients found in the mail headers. The PRO version adds an interface to virus scanners, rules-based distribution and better log file generation.

POPcon PRO connects your MS Exchange™ or Lotus Domino™ Server to your POP3 and IMAP mailboxes.

POPcon PRO downloads the emails from POP3, POP3-SSL, IMAP and IMAP-SSL mailboxes and distributes them to exchange or domino mailboxes according to the recipient information found in the mail headers.

The software is compatible with Exchange 2007, 2003 and 2000 Server, Exchange Server 5.5 and all SBS-Versions of Exchange on Windows 2008 Server (x32 or x64), Windows 2003 Server (x32 or x64), Windows 2000, NT 4.0 and even Windows XP. POPcon installs as a OS service and runs in the background with no user logged in.

POPcon PRO checks each incomming email with its built-in antivirus scanner. Emails that contain viruses are encapsulated in a warning message and can be diverted to the postmaster. Antivirus signatures are automatically updated daily. POPcon PRO also includes anti-spam measures.

Mailflow of incomming emails with POPcon PRO:
The mail sender transmits emails via the SMTP-protocol directly (or over an additional smtp relay server) to your POP3 or IMAP mailbox at your provider. POPcon periodically connects to your POP3/IMAP mailboxes, downloads the email using the POP3 protocol or the newer IMAP protocol (with and without SSL) and stores the messages in temporary files. After downloading emails from all your mailboxes, POPcon connects to your Exchange Server and sends the previously downloaded emails via the SMTP protocol directly to your Exchange users.

POPcon is only used for incomming emails. Outgoing mail traffic is handled directly by your Exchange Server.
